it doesn’t matter if he believed in what alexei was doing or not, the fact is that alexei brought raven back to life and he owed him for that. anyone would feel guilty abandoning the person who fucking saved their life, whether they are evil or not, so don’t try and say that what raven did is ‘wrong’ or 'unjustified’. he barely knew the group when alexei ordered him to stay with them, it was probably just a job to him at first. besides, i doubt raven even had much of a say. he was probably reminded every day that his soul belonged to alexei. it wasn’t until alexei left him to die in baction that he realized his life is his to live, not alexei’s, so he did what he thought was right for the first time since the great war.
so yeah, maybe it wasn’t the right kind of loyalty that kept raven at alexei’s side for so long, but it definitely was loyalty.
